Another great review, Bob. I saw the first “TRON” in a computer class I took in 7th grade. My teacher played for us as a little treat before we left for Christmas break. I do admit it was a bit plodding, but the visuals and David Warner playing the villain kept me keenly interested through the whole thing, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I definitely plan on seeing this sometime. I've still got “Deathly Hallows: Part 1” on my radar at the moment. From watching the trailers, I get the feeling that the Uncanny Valley look for the de-aged Jeff Bridges as Clu was a deliberate decision. In a way, it kinda helps sell how soulless he is. But like I said, great review, I will definitely check this out as soon as I can. Preferably in a theater.

You mean like the original Superman, when Richard Donner actually filmed bits for the sequel while shooting the first? Or Lord of the Rings, where they filmed all three movies, with the giant question mark about Fellowship flying? Especially given that the geek-culture-as-blockbuster hadn't been tested, yet and there were questions if the hardcore fans of the book would go for it or rail against it. Setting up sequels, like that, is nothing new.

Saw the movie, fun, but inconsistent, has some booooorrring parts, and I didn't find the 3D all that buzz Bob.

And damn it… That Lebowski joke really got to me, I couldn't help picturing every time old Flynn came into the picutre, soon John Goodman would follow shouting:

“This is what happens when you fuck strangers in the ass!!!”

    Would've made a way better movie thought…
