i stooped watching that show in the start of the 2ed season (if i remember it right).
when the doctor dude pressed the button “if u don”t press me something bad will happen” button.
he is a doctor, you would suppose he knew better then to press buttons.

It was a show about characters. That is where it started and that is where it ended. It was a near perfect send off (nothing is perfect).

My reachtion is much closer to the following: Ok, I thought that was a pretty clever albeit cliched way to end, but then again I can't think of anything else that has the ending so it just FEELS cliched. Anyone back me up on that?
AND! I've come to notice people generally don't like endings, especially if the build up to the ending is so intense and good. least it didn't end like Halo 2 or Animorphs did (yeah, obscure reference); on a cliffhanger. Well, Halo 2 has an excuse.

I'd say F, but I genuinely liked BSG. The ending was alright, and for a show about the characters I'd say they all came to a fitting conclusion. Then again, there's the directors cut of the final which I haven't seen yet.

Yeah, no, I never liked that show and I'm glad it's over.
What I'm not glad to see go, is Law and Order, after 20 years and actually being made in New York, instead of some vague, LA version of New York.

If it had answered only a few things (like was the Island ACTUALLY important?), I would be pretty much wholly satisfied. As it stands now, though, I can only say that I like it in part.
Still more of a positive than a negative, though.

The entire last season was a complete waste of time. for every tiny little explanation there were 10 new completely stupid questions. then the final episode… well it def sucked. I wouldn't say it was so bad if it hadn't been advertised so damn much as the season that would provide all the damned answers. If they wanted to leave everything mysterious don't falsely advertise the opposite!
Oh and im going to go with A. I think its been obvious since around season three they had no idea how to end it and have been making shit up that sounded good since then in hopes theyd figure something out by the end… they didnt

I actually enjoyed the finale. It did feel a bit like a cop out, but the more I think about it, the more it feels like it really fit with the purpose and feeling of the show. Plus I enjoy happy endings . . . and I guess that qualifies as one 🙂

None of the above, it was an excellent way to end the show, drumming everything up to a massive scale then bringing it back down to human character drama exactly where it began, who cares if it was a cliché? If you genuinely followed and appreciated the characters you know you loved watching them all reunite.

Actually, scratch my previous comment (somewhat). After watching the finale again, I'm satisfied. Sure, the show wasn't perfect and it shouldn't have thrown in mysteries without the intention of answering them, but all the important bits were fine by me. And the ending itself (especially the last half hour or so) was pretty much golden.

I choose Q.) Never really cared enough to watch, but interested in seeing The Big Reveal.
If 24 made the primetime serial cool again, Lost made it nerd cool. The fact that it was actually able to end should be points in its favor. I think down the road, Lost will be viewed generally favorably, but this is the Internet, and you aren't allowed to like anything on the Internet.

Oh, sweet Jesus, guys. Why are you defending “Lost” here? There are plenty of other good shows/ movies with mystery premises that actually pan out into good stories.
JJ Abrams is a bad writer. Period. The man loves mystery. Okay, I get it. But doesn't he realize that a mystery is only satisfying when it has…what are those called?..Oh yeah, CLOSURE. Every good narrative has closure. Somebody skipped creative writing 101, I think.

I was satisfied with the ending, and am frankly offended you would think that I must then be in denial.
!Spoiler alert!
The show was never about giving answers to the mysteries, so people hoping for everything to be explained in the final episode, then disappointed by it, were “doing it wrong”.
And how could the past six years have been a waste? Everything that's happened on the island these past six seasons, happened. The island is not purgatory, but you're a bright guy so I'm guessing you didn't think that.
So I'm not sure what you wanted out of the ending. There was a healthy dose of drama and action, the method with which Smokey was made vulnerable and killed worked in a story sense and it didn't end on yet another cliffhanger.
I think some people would have been happier with the ending if it had ended on a cliffhanger, with maybe Hurley and Ben on the beach and suddenly a plane crashes into the ocean. Shock surprise! Then the episode ends, the series ends, and the mystery goes on (even though the show does not).
But it doesn't, the show simply ends like it should and for that I am grateful.

I really shouldn't be surprised so many people are acting all offended by this (obviously joke) post. Then again, this blog does cater to nerds, famous for being the lifeforms with the thinnest skins on the planet.
In your next video Bob, maybe you can do an analysis on why geeks have such massive inferiority complexes that they take ANY SLIGHT, EVEN IN JEST as a personal attack.

I was totally happy with it. It evoked so many amazing feelings all at once and was such a payoff for character closures. That reunion with Jin and Sun, God damn, I haven't had so much emotional overload since the end of “Waltz with Bashir.”

I have to say that I am almost exactly D. I was disappointed, but since there is nothing I can do about it I'm just going to accept it for what it was.
I don't love it, but I thought it was ok enough not to hate it and I'm ok with having to come up with answers on my own (since I obviously have to now).
