Naturally, I miss even the suggestion of the wings on the mask/helmet for iconography’s sake, and I’ve always thought the “Ultimates” extra stars on the shoulders made it look too much like a football jersey, but those are quibbles. This is a lot better than anyone could’ve reasonably expected it to look.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww. The loss of the head-wings makes me kinna sad, moreso than is fair truth be told. Still, on the whole I'm with you on this one, Bob. Cap looks pretty sweet here.

If these renders are accurate to Evans' body type, it looks like the boy's bulked up a bit.

*facepalm* Jesus Christ….. Hollywood, I know you've done stupid shit before, but JESUS CHRIST….. am I the ONLY ONE who thinks this is really bad Ultimate Vindicator cosplay (of the non-Canadian Omega Flight variety)?!

Better than I anticipated.Captain america's costume is one of those really hard costumes to translate to real life. Many (like superman, batman) look fine on paper, but look terrible onscreen.
Cap's costume didn't even look that good on paper, so this is an effective substitute. The headwings need to come back however. They give his head some much needed profile. The A needs to go. He's a walking american flag. We know where he's from.
Oh and since no one seems to have mentioned it yet, the thundercats remake is a go for 2011. I eagerly anticipate angry 80s fans crying about how [insert director here] ruined the complex narrative of the original show.

Boots and Gloves should be RED and the wings could at least be painted on the side of the helmet like the Captain America WW2 Reborn suit. those two minor changes would make the suit near perfect.
p.s. am i the only one who thinks this is the Honorary G.I.Joe ROC Cap?

I imagine we'll see red boots and gloves and the head wings when we get to the updated costume for the Avenger's movie.
And, Robert, you're not the only one. It was my first thought too, and strangely, that notion fits.

Could have been better, could have been a LOT worse. I think it works though, they'll probably revamp it for Avengers or the sequels.
