I agree 100% on this one. I can put in an episode of MST3K at any given time and never get sick of it. Recently I've gravitated a bit more toward Rifftrax, but I agree that it's just not quite the same as watching them tear “Hobgoblins” to shreds or suffer through “Monster-a-Go-Go.” Whenever I have a long lunch break at home or it's late and I want to watch something before going to sleep, an episode of MST3K is always the first thing I turn to.

I watched some of the RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic stuff. It made me want to grab the cast, shake them, and yell, “You're all just making half-assed MST3K! Why not just get back together and make the real thing again?!”

I was a fan of this show, to this day I'll still go to a movie that's already been out for awhile with friends sit in the back and crack on it mercilessly. Why because somebody has to.

Good episode. I must admit, MST3K was one of those shows I always knew OF, but unfortunately never watched. It's only within the past year or so that people I know have been bringing it up, and now I'm saddened I never got a chance to see it.

for me, i always enjoyed the IDEA of the show more than watching the actual show. You know, the whole actually-having-to-sit-through-a-bad-movie-thing meant I'd usually only check out around a half-hour of the show. still, it was a damn good idea.

I didn't have Comedy Central, when the show was on the air, so most of my exposure was through the movie, first, then dubbed VHS copies friends made, and now Netflix.
Thanks for that link, Uncommon, I'm sure I will be putting it to use.

I would also like to point out some of my favorite episodes, that I just thought about.

Merlin's Shop – two pieced together TV pilots with a double framing device of Merlin in the 20th century, and Earnest Borgnine (no shit) telling the darkest bedtime stories, ever, to six year-old.

Bride of the Monster – Ed Wood, 'nuff said.

White Goddess – 40's jungle movie of a white South African woman crash landing in, presumably, the Congo, also features George Reeves pre-Superman.

Rocket Attack, USA – a cold war paranoia piece from the 60's, that is probably the most boring spy movie, yet made. Lots of good Strange Love jokes.

Mitchell – crap detective movie, in the line of Magnum, PI. Also Joel's last episode.

The Brain that Wouldn't Die – Mike's first episode.

Boggy Creek 2 – A sequel to The Legend of Boggy Creek, a cheap horror movie half based on a legend in Fouke AR (the truth, of course, being a sad state of affairs). From the man that brought you The Town That Feared Sundown, so cheap, local stuff from southern Arkansas.

For those of you who are Netflix subscribers, there are a fair number of them for DVD rental and Streaming. I myself have seen a majority of the run through various methods over the years.

The moments that stick in my mind were “PumaMan” and the Jet Jaguar song.

Haven't seen Cinematic Titanic but I have become a fan of Rifftrax, especially when they do a live event. And their riffing of the Twilight movies is a thing of beauty.

Good vid, and a great show. In fact, could it be possible that it was the earliest inspiration for review and critic vids like this, AVGN, and stuff at TGWTG? If so or not, it's still awesome. My only regret: not seeing enough of MST3k. Sigh. Is there an ep on Fantastic Voyage? If so, I'm on it!
