"Detention"

hat-tip: Chud

I was never all that fond of “Scream,” detested it’s sequels, loathed about 90% of the “modern-slasher” films it inspired and have absolutely no reason to believe that “Scream 4” will be worth anything close to a damn. In other words, I’m the LAST person whose supposed to get excited for a movie that’s basically trying to out-Scream “Scream.” However, when said film comes from Joseph “I Was Neo-Grindhouse Before It Was Cool” Kahn, director of the marvelously insane “Torque” (seriously, click that link – the ONLY good movie to come out of the post-Fast&Furious “gearhead-douchebag” genre) and looks quite literally like “Scream” + cojones? Alright, you’ve got my attention. Yes, even with That Guy in it.

let me ask for an objective analysis of what i just saw. ahem… i saw an ax/knife weilding murderer wearing a tiara, a close encounter of the fourth kind, and a hellhound, all framed within a spoof of the breakfast club spoofing scream which itself spoofed every horror movie made before it.
did bob hijack a movie studio?

Torque? really Bob? I'm in for any good movie that puts style over substance, and I can enjoy over the top stunts. But good lord this movie was retarded. And please don't give that crap “it knows what it wants to be”

It wants to be dumb and mediocre and it shall be treated that way. Said that and the director having nothing on his sleve besides that retarded movie and videoclipes (there is a reason why he havent make a movie in 6 years), I reeeeaaly can't share you enthusiam over this Detention.

A slasher that don't take themselves seriously and dumps a ton of pop-culture references? by the diretor of a stupid bike movie?
    Geez….

So did McG in the 90's and the guy still haven't proved to be a good long feature director.

And I doubt he would refuse any movie project and step up in his career in favor of doing Maroon 5 and Lady Gaga's videoclipes. The guy was stuck.

No, it's not Doug, and if he was in a feature film, everyone would have heard about it by now.

Nah, I suspect Bob might be referring to Dane Cook, a person if I remember correctly Bob can't stand (can't blame him, I can't either).

Oh man. I guess he must like this because it's so bad that it's good. Because after seeing this trailer, it looks like every bad hollywood cliche for high school films thrown together into a horribly acted pseudo-horror film. It feels like they are trying to mix “Scream” with “The Breakfast Club”. A deadly toxic combination. Pass!

Please PLEASE tell me that this entire post, from the recommendation of Torque to your comments regarding the trailer, was meant to be satirical.

I'm angry about this because I wanted to be the one to make the Scream for Generation Y. But considering this actually looks decent I'm now raging furious.
