Darren Aronofsky has abruptly dropped out of “The Wolverine,” which was supposed to start shooting in a few months, to spend more time with his family – yes, really, the original “diplomatic answer.”
Wasn’t Fox supposed to be getting LESS impossible to work with on genre projects?
I don't buy it. I think its because his mustache is self aware and didn't like the script.

Well there goes 90% of MY interest in “The Wolverine”, then, unless they pull an “Iron Man 3” and get a director who might actually bring something worthwhile to the project. Dunno that I'd put all the blame on Fox for this, though; Arronofsky seems the type who very well might drop out of a project like this on his own for exactly the reason listed. Wouldn't surprise me if Fox WAS to blame, mind, just sayin'.

(Sounding like Dr. Evil) Yeah time with the family right. I think he saw another Fox-oluted Wolverine script and said to himself no that's okay I'll pass on this.

They were making another Wolverine movie? (seriously, I didn't know) Haven't there already been four of those?

Let's hope it just means that Zack Snyder is being brought in.

he is going through a difficult divorce and according to collider theres a custody battle over his kid so for once it could actually be possible that the excuse is legit…

This could've been great. Another big step forward for comic book movies gaining more respect.
@Nicholas
Are you sure about that? Are you talking about Deborah Snyder? Last I heard, things were great for her and Zack. Hell, she's produced all his films since 300 and will also produce the new Superman. He describes their work as “a package deal” (not one without the other)

I think Nicolas is referring to Aronofski and not Snyder. I haven't heard about Snyder's marriage recently, but I know Darren has been having some family issues.

@Adam
4 Wolverine movies? huh?
As far as I know, there has only been 1 live action movie based around Wolverine.
If your referring to the X-Men movies as the other 3 “Wolverine” movies, then I suppose there has been 4.
Technically only 1 though.

That's a bummer. Now I've pretty much lost all hope for this movie.
