Pro-wrestling legend Randy Savage (born Randall Mario Poffo) is dead. He suffered a heart-attack while driving, lost control of his car, and ultimately died from injuries sustained in the subsequent crash. His wife, traveling with him, survived with only minor injuries.
He was “only” 58 years old, which is comparatively young for most people but, tragically, not so for men in his particular profession; who routinely put their bodies through incredible amounts of punishment in their “prime.” If I remembered offhand what his “greatest” match was, I’d try to find a clip and post it – anybody recall?

Bob, there's two matches that come to mind. His incredible Intercontinental Title contest with Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania III and the highly emotional match with the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania VII. Both (in different ways) show off how damn good Savage was in the ring, and either would be a great tribute to him.

Well that just sucks. I've never watched a professional wrestling match in my life but even I knew who he was. As dramaticized as it is it's incredible what those wrestlers put themselves through.

PS- His matches with Steamboat and Warrior are probably his best, I'd also suggest his Wrestlemania V match with Hulk Hogan and his Wrestlemania VII match with Ric Flair.

Some may feel these suggestions are disrespectful, but truth be told, I think they're fine examples of what made Mr. Savage such a perfect wrestler: he has a highly charismatic style and an excellent voice for it.

He was “Bone Saw” in the first Spiderman movie. He brought genuine credibility to that scene.
Spiderman was dealing with a pro.

I was never that big a wrestling fan but I still loved Macho Man. From his Slim Jim Commercials to his role in Spider-man and especially his voice acting as character's in Dexters Lab & King Of The Hill. He will truly be missed.

NOOOOOOO! Growing up in the era of Hulkamania, for me there was always only two men in the world: Hulk Hogan and Macho Man. Macho was simply the most unique person to ever set foot in the ring and a great wrestler to boot.
This is a sad, sad day for me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! This guy was my favorite wrestler to impersonate. Hell, he's the only wrestler I impersonated. I don't even like wrestling and this is a tragedy for me.

He has to be one of the most prolific wrestlers in history to not be inducted in WWE's Hall of Fame.
That said, I'm deeply saddened by the tragedy. He will be missed greatly to me.
In all honesty, he has to be the only wrestler other than Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold that is synonymous with professional wrestling

I'd add The Undertaker to that list. I'm not necessarily a “fan,” but he's been a remarkably gifted and consistent worker for a LONG time, and was more or less THE face of the WWE in between the Hogan and Rock/Stone Cold eras.
