About the "Dark Knight Rises" Teaser

Yes, I’ve seen the (probably) legit “Dark Knight Rises” teaser that’s supposed to start showing up in front of “Harry Potter” tonight and tomorrow. No, I’m NOT going to post bootleg links on this site.

There’s not much to it, honestly, but some impressions after the jump…

At least half of it is clips from the previous films, primarily “Begins.”

A good deal of Liam Neeson’s “Begins” dialogue used as voiceover; suggesting that the rumors about the loose-ends of that film coming back into play here have merit.

The titles make it EXPLICITLY clear that this is the END of this series.

I don’t know that there was a single good “new” shot of Batman or Bruce Wayne, but his voice is heard.

We see Bane, but not well.

A major character appears to have been critically-injured.

Dialogue heavily implies that a significant amount of time has passed since the last one, and that Batman has not been active for a portion of it.

No Catwoman or implications of Catwoman yet.

The video of the teaser is supposed to be officially released on Monday, but will supposedly be in theaters with most prints of “Potter.”

I wonder what they're going to do with the next iteration after Nolan leaves. Presumably they'll reboot it again, but what “angle” will they take?

Unfortunately, if Warner Bros. track record re: “Learning from mistakes” is any indication, they will take GL's disastrous failure as “proof” not that they need to do a better job on the movie, but that “audiences don't like other superheroes” and count it as yet another reason to not do a JL movie.

This is the studio that stopped making movies centering around female superheroes because Catwoman bombed, after all.

It will definitely be bittersweet when the credits roll for this movie. I would suggest that Warner just lay off the series for awhile to let it cool before coming back to it.

At first I was highly against the idea of a set end to Batman but the more I think about, the more I feel that aspect alone can be great. A tale of legend perhaps.
And who knows maybe it's all about his rise (hence the title) as a symbol, and the End may indicate a new beginning. With this trilogy being a end all origin tale of a man willing to sacrifice all he has in the name of justice.

I was one of those people who really wanted to see the riddler in this movie…

Hey Bob, there's an idea for a big picture “your thoughts on the upcoming villains in the new batman, who you would rather see? and what villains would never fit into Nolans batman?” more of a discussion like the green lantern episodes you did.
