More "Immortals" Teasing

People do NOT seem enthused about “Immortals;” which I get but am still slightly depressed by. The idea of Tarsem Singh’s signature Fellini-in-an-opium-den style applied to what’s being pitched as a mega-macho “300” riff equals must-see to me, whether it’s a triumph or a disaster. At least it’ll be memorable…

The reason people are less than enthused is because we remember “Clash of the Titans” and because these trailers seem more interested in lining up big CG battle scenes and drawing parallels to “300” than telling a coherent story. I think this movie only stands a chance if it is reviewed well, which I somehow doubt it will be.

Up until now, I've regarded this as honestly just another sword and sandal flick. But it appears I wasn't paying close enough attention. To wit…are the GODS fighting mortals?

I'm not real excited because I've seen Tarsem Singh's previous films
    (The Cell and The Fall).

Both were remarkable in their visuals but lacked substance.

This worked out well for Singh when he was doing music videos (i.e., Losing My Religion), but not so well when doing a movie.

Much as I love the Greek myths, I fear this will be the same.
