Big Picture: "War of The Gargantuas"

Before anyone asks: YES, I’m aware that James Rolfe – aka “The Angry Nintendo Nerd” did this one as part of HIS October Monster Movies series yesterday last year.

People should go watch James’ anyway, though – his work for Cinemassacre deserves to be at least as widely seen as his AVGN material.

Both videos are very good, but James' wasn't posted yesterday, it was part of his Monster Madness last year.

Also, I loved the “bigger…and bigger…and bigger” part of the video. It was great.

@Anonymous Cut Bob some slack. It's October, so if he wants to do a month dedicated to schlocky-yet0enjoyable monster movies, he can. Hell, the Nostalgia Critic dedicates October to ripping bad horror movies a new one, so why not?

Now come on, Anonymous, the Big Picture's mission statement is “whatever the hell Bob feels like talking about”, he outright says that in the first episode.

Although I must admit devoting a whole month to cheesy movies does seem a bit much.

@ Popcorn Dave: Honestly, I like Bob best when he's talking about the things he actually loves (and find his insufferable generalizations, arrogant attitude, and dismissive behavior of others when he's talking about stuff he DOESN'T like increasingly insufferable, even if I may somewhat agree with his overall point), and Schlocktober seems a fine excuse for him to do just that, so I've got no complaints.

Also, fun fact for any fans of Cartoon Network's “Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated”: ever see the episode “Battle of the Humongonauts”? Yeah, it's an extended reference to this movie, right down to using a full-on soundclip from it (the infamous “The Words Get Stuck in My Throat” musical number).

I know it's off topic, but Moviebob, did you see the official Avengers Trailer that came out two days ago, and will probably be shown again at NY comic con this weekend?

It works…it works well for me.
