Lost in the shuffle of people rushing to invent nefarious conspiracy theories as to why I HATED “The Expendables” was the fact that I’d been looking forward to it at one point. Who wouldn’t want to see a dream-team of B-movie action heroes teaming up for one big show? The end result… pretty mediocre, sadly.
This new poster for the sequel, however, promises that they’ll try to get it right: Arnold and Willis with (reportedly) bigger non-cameo roles, Van Damme and Chuck Norris added to the roster, etc. Jet Li is apparently in there, too, but didn’t rate the poster. I also don’t know who the new female recruit is.
It still probably won’t end up being very good – Stallone has turned the director duties over the to professionally-mediocre Simon West – but maybe this time they won’t bother angling for a PG13 and deliver the ultraviolence properly. Still, good poster.
MOVIEBOB CENTRAL 
I find it almost amusing that Mickey Rourke's not in this one. Its like they realized he was only one giving a genuine and underplayed performance in a cheesy action flick and concluded they had to get rid of him.

Hopefully this time some the cast will actually be expendable this time around. Any manly men on a mission movie that doesn’t end with the majority of the cast going out in heroic last stands of glory is doing it wrong.
Also, is there any chance of the Ayslum guys doing an Expendables mockbuster?

Man, I was in the same boat. I was looking forward to Expendables and it was garbage. I promised I wouldn't see Expendables 2 unless it had Arnold in it. It does and it also has Van Damme and Norris and a good poster.
Hopefully, it has less Statham and more Terry Crews too. And hopefully it will be fun.

Just out of curiosity, what does this poster promise that this and this didn't?
I get that they've talked about how Arnold and Bruce are gonna have actual action roles in the new one, but I don't see how the poster itself is encouraging news.

I agree, it is a good poster. I like how all the poses of the old action stars are similar to poses they did for their more famous movies. Lets see: Stallone, Judge Dredd; Chuck Norris, Delta Force; Van Damme, Universal Soldier; Schwarzenegger, Last Action Hero; Willis, Die Hard. I don't know what Lundgren's pose is from, nor how right I am with the others.
