You will be unsurprised to learn that the emerging “modernized fairytale” trend has inspired someone to reboot the Linda Hamilton/Ron Perleman “Beauty & The Beast” series as what sounds an awful lot like “Castle-but-with-a-sorta-wolfman”; but Moviehole’s report on the pilot script adds an “are you kidding me!?” detail: the “new” Beast is a guy who got transformed into (more or less) a half-animal version of Captain America… by 9-11.
Yeah, I know. Ten years, Bin Laden is dead, but still… yikes.

Have you seen the Jack and Giant Killer trailer Bob? Looks decent, but agreed that this gritty reboot thing is going a bridge too far.

I have a soft spot for REALLY crappy movies and tv shows. Ones that crash and burn sooo hard they become highly entertaining and totally awesome (Like Ghost Rider or the Wonder Woman tv pilot).
This looks like my new favorite thing to anticipate.

I am not a rocket scientist but i can safely say that rebooting Beauty and the Beast in this manner is not a good idea.

Why is he living in the sewers and not doing book signings? This story doesn't really make any sense. If he's a war hero that got transformed into a monster due to government meddling, shouldn't he be doing the publicity circuit instead?
