BTW, the Japanese subtitles REALLY cut information off.
I was once in a localization conference in which a Japanese translator explained that, on average, 70% of the information is lost in English to Japanese subtitles due to space and speed of read constraints.
Now that I see this I realise she wasn't exaggerating.
Actually, it would be a surprise if the movie turns out to be a big hit in Japan. So far, none of the Marvel movies leading up to the Avengers has done anything more than medicore box office relative to Japan.
