Mmmmmm. That's goooood, trashy fun right there. 😉 Looks like the most novel thing about this movie is that the shark isn't some genetically enhanced super-shark, or some mutant caused by radioactive ooze. It's just a normal shark stuck in a very small area. Somehow, that makes it even scarier.

sadly this seems more fun to say then it is to watch, btws anybody catch that trailer for a supposed remake of 1980's Maniac that's been floating around with Elijah Wood in the title role?

The most shocking thing about this trailer. The Paramount logo at the start.

I mean from the description I was thinking The Asylum, or some other b-movie house that'd never play in theaters.

But no, this an actual production with some money behind it.

I've got to say, I might just go see this.

I first heard about this film forever ago, long enough to confuse it with Shark Night when that movie hit theaters last year.

The effects and some of the characters just scream Sy-Fy original feature. In fact, it really feels like somebody tried to make a Tremors movie that took place in water, then made the monster a shark when licensing fell through. Consider all the similarities to the original: the grocery setting, the monster sensing for it's prey, people trapped in varying locations trying to reach and help one another, asian guy getting eaten, and so on.

Another aspect that could make it interesting is the idea that the robbers, seen here with masks on, would get lost in the shuffle, creating an air of suspense around who exactly is a gun-toting criminal?
