"Django Unchained" Trailer #2

Here’s the new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” which was infamous as a screenplay and now notorious as a supposedly out-of-control production (not necessarily “troubled,” though, since the studio has thus far been enthusiastic about the results coming back) has a new trailer that shows off more of it’s scope and incendiary approach to its own “slavery revenge” narrative. Getting more screentime in this new look is Samuel L. Jackson as co-villain “Stephen,” a character who’s “unique” viewpoint on his own enslavement is supposedly one of the darker parts of the movie:

Yeah… VERY good feeling about this. Film comes out for the Holidays, and it’s going to be really interesting to watch how an EXPLICITLY black-vs-white revenge movie is recieved in the aftermath of what is already a racially-divisive election (whatever the outcome.)

    Better than the first trailer. Still waiting for Tarantino to finish his decades long pleasuring of himself to the 70's brand of film making style(the ridiculous over use of the quick zoom, for example).

    Well, Inglourious Basterds wasn't exactly a black-and-white revenge film either, and that had World War II as a backdrop. Could it be these events are far enough in the past that pop culture can treat them with some of the complexity and nuance and shades of grey they had in reality?

    Also, could Samuel L's craziness ever top the time he wore an SS uniform?

    So you post an article about Liberals stereotyping Conservatives that includes the following gem when describing Liberals:

    “All they[Liberals] have to defend themselves against the horrible vision of a government that doesn’t control all of society…and every individual from birth to death”

    A stereotype? In an article about stereotyping? That's almost funny enough to not be tragic and insulting.

    @Anonymous:

    Come on! the article comes from PJmedia: the site which caused to its co-founder to experience one of the most famous, massive, “Oh-my-fucking-God-I'm-in-bed-with-bloodthirsty-fascist” freak-out in Internet history. You have to go to such a site like you go to a porn site: it just uses insulting stereotypes and intellectual dishonesty instead of asses and tits to make its target audience jerk-off sessions easier.

    That feeds into the claim that 'the GOP is trying to tell the least oppressed demographic ever that they are somehow oppressed'; and is not relevant to the demagoguery discussed thus far (right-porn, left-porn, being in the mist, etc)

    As discussed over at the overthinker blog, arguing from that side of the ‘divide-and-conquer tactics’ is not productive toward discussion of, say, actual solutions to the needlessly high poverty rate and overly low home ownership rates of non-whites.

    As for everyone else,
    Appolgies for driving discussion so far off topic from the movie itself. My hope is that MovieBob will be pleasently surprised at the future lack of controversy surrounding Django Unchained.

    I challange you to look up how pajamas media got its name 😉

    When one of the “solutions” to poverty exists in demonizing an entire race of people, and then calling them racist for wanting to organize in defense, it definitely looks like the supremacist shoe is on the other foot.

    Just because self-shaming “Progressives” like Bob are complicit in their own extinction, doesn't mean they will get any special treatment.

    @Ralphael: the fact that PJmedia was quoted here does not make this place right-wing-porn friendly: be a good boy and go practice your public onanism somewhere else.

    Aw cmon now… did I break you into using ALL CAPS with only a few comments?

    So cute how you know what a fallacy is! And on your first year of community college! Congrats.

    I'm sorry you have to see your hero Biden be called out on his half assed Catholicism

    John Paul II kept a harem of four nuns, Panzer the first lives in a transparent closet and the catholic priest who baptized me, baptized my mother and married my parents was a big condom enthusiast.
    You obviously don't know many Catholics.

    Also, no Randologist like Ryan should be taken seriously when they pretend to be devout Catholics: Catholicism is about worshipping magic virgins and whores: bitchy pseudo-vestals are for decadant pagans

    Guys, this topic here isn't about the Vice Presidental debate. Wait til Bob actually posts a topic for discussing the debate, then go on discussing who won the debate. Looking forward to seeing those posts deleted and everyone, especially Ralphael told not to change the subject of the topic. *Sighs.*

    Well, if you want to come back to the subjct of the movie itself…

    Am I the only one who's starting to find that Tarantino's is over-milking a formula: We've had the bloody revenge of a scorned woman, then the bloody revenge of Jews during WWII, then the bloody revenge of a former black slave… Does he intent to make every variation possible from this theme?

    On the other hand, he could end his trend with a “Inglorious Unchained Raped Iraqi Basterds Kill Dick”, which end with a duel between characters armed with a kitchen-knife /hunting-rifle combo: now That would be a way to end his crazy-killer-revenge-fantasy saga.

    @Raphael

    You don't have a logical rebuttal to my points, so you're resorting to Ad-Hominems?

    Seems legit.

    I'll refer to a quote made by Nixou: “No: what the GOP is thinking is “You know what? unlike those spineless hippies, we'll just pretend that our guy won even though we know better”.
    After all, if pretending to believe things you know are false work for natural selection, global warming, the inanity of supply-sides, and Obama's religion, there is no reason to keep on using that very same trick.

    You're pretty much like the angry kid who got destroyed at a video game, so he gets on the mic and goes “YAAYYY I WON, I WOONNN HAHAHA” you're not hiding how angry you really are. If anything, you're emphasizing it.
