Late on this comment, but I don’t agree with one aspect of your take.
I don’t buy the “making the mature sacrifices” angle. Steve Rogers is the word of god in these things.
He said they don’t trade lives.
The heroes failed every time they tried to do it. Strange went back on his promise to trade lives to (presumably) set up the chain of events that save everyone.
The villain succeeded in doing so.
Your point more or less still stands, but that take on the rules of this universe seems wrong to me.
