Some business to attend:
Those who mainly followed via the YouTube channel will recall that over the last 2 years most of the daily uploads were remasters of “classic” Big Picture episodes as my renegotiated contract with The Escapist at the time had allowed for me to reclaim my rights to such. The further conclusion of that contract having now also allowed me to reclaim the rights to my other content produced there, you’ll start to see “Escape to The Movies” and post-“return” Big Picture episodes being posted to the Channel at a rate of about 1-2 per day until I’ve got them all migrated over and monetized. For example, just now this review of DRAGON QUEST: YOUR STORY (2019) is now live; and reviews for “SONIC THE HEDGEHOG” and “BLOOD QUANTUM” I’ll embed after the jump:
The 2020 reviews (at least the initial wave of “big/interesting” ones) I’m planning to leave on YT notifications for, but since these aren’t “brand new” or Patron-funded content there probably aren’t going to be Patreon-alerts or posts about every upload – it’s just a lot of content and I don’t want to annoy or overwhelm people with things they’ve already seen.
HOWEVER, I would ask that if any longtime fans, followers, etc are able to take a moment when you do seem them pop to click, share, watch, like, whatever works (when you can) if only because you YouTube/Google algorithm DOES sometimes end up “punishing” channels for putting up low/slow-burn traffic content even if it’s for digital-housekeeping/re-uploads. We’re angling to mitigate this by not letting the older stuff “go live” until day-of-publish, but even still as many people actually clicking/watching will make a lot of difference – and while I hope it goes without saying, this should not effect scheduling of other, newer projects (if anything the extra money should improve things in that respect!)
Thanks in advance,
– Bob
