Yes, there are now ads on both of these blogs. I’m trying it out, seeing how it goes, etc; hoping it won’t be some kind of “issue.”

You gotsta get paid, brutha. I understand. I'd personally suggest Blip over this, but it's silly of us to want all this content from you and not make a buck off it.

I don't mind.

Fair enough, ads never bothered me that much, except on Blip and Spotify where they get repeated too much. I'm fully aware that without ads, most of what we think of as “free” would vanish overnight.
But if I see one of those damn Acai berry/work from home scams I'm not going to be best pleased. 😡 Not that you have much control over that, of course…

Pretty much everyone does it now. And why not? Who doesn't want to somehow get paid for something they actually like doing?

Do what you gotta do.
If your blog is still free then by all means, do whatever you want.

I don't mind, I understand. Especially since I have the NoScript add on for firefox, so I don't even see them 😀

Okay, so you mostly seem to have Christian dating sites in your ads. Or, erm, dating sites for the over 50s. Can't see many people clicking on those. I thought these ad services chose their ads based on the site content? Shouldn't there be geeky ads for videogames and movies and stuff?

Mine says Unlimited Sushi.
But do know that the I regard your subjectmatter and viewers to be a little above clicking banners.
But hey, if this gets you out of your dayjob, go nuts.

Eh, I don't really mind either way. If you want a few more bucks and happen to have time for another show Blistered Thumbs is still hiring.

Ads aren't terrible, and if there's anything we can do to earn your a prettier penny, then the fans are more than happy to oblige.
Sellout.

Nah, it's no big deal. Actually a reason to turn off Notscript on here an your other sites actually. If the Ad help support you, the least we can do is to look over them every now and again.

My only complaint about ads, are the ones before the videos, as I don't have the bandwidth to load video in real time, so it jumps and skips and takes longer than the 30 seconds it claims.

How dare you make me scroll down just a tiny bit more to see the second post!
But whatever, it doesn't bother me, feel free to sell out a little more if this is what is considered selling out.

Interesting, the guy who says he sees dating site ads. I am getting ads for baby clothing retailers.
Yep, right now I'm seeing a precious baby girl in pink with “OH MY! So many dresses!”
I think they're targeting. Dear God, they can see into my house!

What Thomas said. I don't even see the ads, probably because I use adblocker.

@Displayname: Isn't that were some people went after angrily left Screwattack?

Funny you should mention Screwattack. They are now friends with youtube after they hated on them some time ago. That said, it's all good where you go. Just enjoy!

Do you get ads via a function on Blogger or do you arrange it with Doubleclick?

Whatever. As long as there no pop-ups, no objections here.

You should put them on the sides as opposed to under the posts. It's how I do it. Less intrusive.

However, if the internetrumors about competition and hostility are true… and Bob joins all groups, he could be the one. He could bring balance to the internet.
