Just what I said you shouldn't do. This whole video was insipid and didn't make me laugh once. Like I said, April Fools is overdone and you would have been wise to avoid it.
That said, I WOULD like to see a Mario, Zelda, Metroid (before that piece of shit Other M), Kirby, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, F-Zero, and Earthbound movies all done 100% faithfully and then come together for a Smash Bros movie.

Having just got back from a preview screening (sheesh, the admission fee was high!), I can tell you that Bob is once again wrong about a movie, and I'm sick of his Nintendo fanboyishness blinding him to the fact that this movie is an awful pile of tripe, even worse than the one with Bob Hoskins made however many decades ago.
First off, whose idiotic idea was it to reimagine the Goombas as a triangle-helmet-wearing motorcycle gang, that gets beaten by Mario jump-kicking the helmets? I mean, it fits with the reimagining of the Shy Guys as a terrorist cell and the piranha plants as robotic guards dreamed up by a psychotic botanist-turned-robot-manufacturer, but casting Chris Pine as the leader of a motorcycle gang?!
Sure, the cameo by Bowser in a silhouette (and don't even TRY to tell me that's not who that was, you know which shot I mean) was somewhat amusing, but don't even get me started on the art design of the lab where the tortoises are being engineered on. It looks like something lifted wholesale from the set of one of those Science Is Bad movies they skewed on MST3K.
My verdict: Give this movie a miss.

Really, this movie just sounds terrible. In fact the only one Nintendo studio's that's sounds remotely watchable is that one about a team of mercenary fighter pilots played by John Barrowman, Ashton Kutcher, Shia LaBeouf and Tommy Lee Jones fighting an alien invasion, and that's only because it's supposed to be Nicholas Courtney's last role as General Pepper and Kate Beckensale looks really good in that tribal bikini.

Much as I'm loathed to, I agree with Tim, unsurprising and not funny, commentary about the state of the movie industry aside.
The only way to get a good Mario movie would be to let Miazaki do it in his usual animated oddity way. And no, I don't think Pixar could do it right. It's too Japanese.

This was hilarious. yet I'd want this to be made if only because I love the first Mario Bros. movie and I'm interested in seeing if others can actually like it now as one critic has said it does basically just not as well the same things Wicked did to wizard of oz. Red Riding hood did to it's source material and so on.

Rule of thumb, Bob. Jokes tend to be funny in inverse proportion to how often people tell them. Considering you more or less tell variations of damned near every joke in this whole video pretty much every day, that leaves your April Fool's joke without a lot of punch to it. Better luck next year.
Oh, also, boo to you on giving “Source Code” a pass.

Good April Fool's joke though Bob. I pretty much knew it was a joke from the second you mentioned “Nintendo's secret film studio”, but several jokes still made me laugh. The casting decisions made me laugh in despair, but the “Master Hand” joke made me laugh out loud at how amazingly awesome that would be, along with the winking Marvel reference of course.

The entire concept of April Fool's is insulting: a bunch of white people arbitrarily decided that new years was in the middle of winter, not the beginning of spring. Those that didn't agree and thought the new year started in April were deemed fools.
So now, a bunch of idiots try to pull stupid and unfunny pranks.

Awesome job, MovieBob! You pulled an epic April Fool's prank, and got paid for it! I wasn't fooled by it, but if I had the cash to travel to Boston, I'll go there to personally buy you a drink for how much this entertained me. Thanks.
Also, to all you people who are playing the “Dude, Not Funny” card or complaining how he should've just reviewed another movie and not done the prank at all, lighten up! Not all movie critics have to be stuffed shirts. I'm not gonna mention any names, lest the mild cough I've had since Tuesday starts flaring up again… 🙂
