Wish I'd known about this a week ago, I could have tried to add it to my screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival. Ah well, still have a decent lineup of foreign comedy/horror/action ahead of me.

Every death is long and violent, but not in a comedic way. It's to the extent that every death has a certain weight, not necessarily realistic but it adds to the “People are being murdered on screen right now” aesthetic. As a result you don't need to blow something up or even drop a “humorous” line every few minutes to keep people interested.
Is that what movies are like everywhere else?

All I saw was a bunch of fighting that looked no different from hundreds of other action sequences. Competent, sure…but that's about it. And maybe that in and of itself is a leap forward for their foreign industry. Still, I'll give it about a .05% chance that I ever end up seeing it.
